Las Vegas is back, people. The indefatigable destination is on the upswing, as visitors are rushing back to the ever-popular escape where round-the-clock entertainment is once again the norm. Starting Thursday, travelers will have a new option on where to stay, as Resorts World Las Vegas officially opens its doors on June 24. The mega-resort is “the first ground-up development on the Strip in over a decade,” Travel + Leisure has reported, located just north of the Fashion Show Las Vegas mall and near the Las Vegas Convention Center....

An airport in Wisconsin is — literally — brightening the spirits of their community with an elaborate drive-through light display, perfect for social distancing. The free Flight of Lights display, which includes more than 2 million individual lights spread over 300 different displays, opened over the weekend at the Dane County Regional Airport in Madison. About 400 cars drove through this past weekend during their opening, marveling at colorful images of New York City, dice from Las Vegas, and even a nod to Mickey Mouse, spokesman for the airport, Nick Kazmierczak, told Travel + Leisure....

A resort in Jamaica is auctioning off a chance to name a mother sea turtle as her babies hatch on the beach. Back in May, the Jamaica Inn, set against a backdrop of turquoise water and buttery sand in the Ocho Rios part of the island, tagged a mother Hawksbill sea turtle who came upon the resort’s beach to nest, the hotel shared with Travel + Leisure. Now, the resort is auctioning off a chance to name her to raise money for the Oracabessa Bay Turtle Project, which the hotel said helps protect endangered sea turtles....

The U.S. has extended its border closures with Canada and Mexico to July, according to the Department of Homeland Security. The land border closure, which restricts non-essential travel between the U.S. and its neighbors to the north and south, will be extended until July 21, Chad Wolf, the acting U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, confirmed in a statement on Tuesday, specifying the date of the extension on Twitter. “Based on the success of the existing restrictions and the emergence of additional global COVID-19 hotspots, the Department will continue to limit non-essential travel at our land ports of entry with Canada and Mexico,” Wolf said....

Starting June 24th, visitors to the Disneyland can finally enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge without reservations — but there’s a catch.
