Burberry is here to show the world that high fashion can be sustainable too. On Tuesday, Burberry announced its plans to begin donating leftover fabric to fashion students in the United Kingdom as part of its “ongoing commitment to supporting creative communities” to ensure nothing goes to waste. California’s popular Squaw Valley ski resort is changing its name after “extensive research” determined the name was “widely considered a racist and sexist slur.” The ski resort in Lake Tahoe, announced this week that a new name will be put in place in early 2021 and will go into effect at the conclusion of the ski season. “With the momentum of recognition and accountability we are seeing around the country, we have reached the conclusion that now is the right time to acknowledge a change needs to happen,” Ron Cohen, President and COO of Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, said in a statement....

The latest seat solution for social distancing up in the air hopes to help airlines grappling with how to resume some semblance of normal operations as travelers contemplate flying again following the COVID-19 pandemic. A 99-year-old British war veteran walked 100 laps around his garden and raised more than $17 million for the U.K.’s National Health Service (NHS). Captain Tom Moore set out to raise $1,250 (£1,000) for NHS Charities Together by walking around his garden in Bedfordshire 100 times, just before his 100th birthday. Although it might seem like scoring first-class flights for budget airline prices is the exception rather than the rule, if you know where to look and how to book — and can be a little bit flexible in terms of timing — you can find similar award tickets to fly some of the world’s best first-class seats regularly. Union Square in New York City is about to look very different. In particular, New Yorkers won’t have to dodge quite as much traffic any more. According to Time Out, the Union Square Partnership teamed up with architecture firm Marvel to transform Union Square into a pedestrian-friendly, car-free zone. The $100 million plan involves closing certain streets to traffic and extending the park to nearby buildings, thereby increasing public, pedestrian space by 33 percent, Time Out reported....
