Flight cancellations and passenger frustration continued on Wednesday as Southwest Airlines continued to deal with the fallout from a computer outage on Tuesday, a day after the carrier experienced issues with a third-party weather data provider. The issues started Monday after a problem with the weather data provider forced the airline to delay about 1,500 flights, The Associated Press reported. Then on Tuesday, the airline was forced to cancel hundreds more flights and delay more than 1,000 after a technology-related issue grounded planes....
Spirit Airlines continued to cancel hundreds of flights into Tuesday and Wednesday, as exacerbating “operational challenges” have plagued the carrier since earlier in the week. Flight tracker, FlightAware reported that the airline already canceled more than 300 flights on Wednesday or about 45% of its schedule. The airline had previously canceled more than 400 flights by Tuesday evening, or about 60% of its schedule, CBS News reported. “We’re working around the clock to get back on track in the wake of some travel disruptions over the weekend due to a series of weather and operational challenges,” Spirit told Travel + Leisure in a statement on Monday....

United will expand its pre-flight COVID-19 testing program for passengers traveling from Houston to Latin America and the Caribbean.
