JetBlue is taking farm-to-table dining to new heights — and letting economy passengers get in on the delicious fun — revealing its freshly-sourced menu and other perks of its soon-to-launch transatlantic flights to London. The airline has partnered with New York-based Dig for “farm to in-flight seat table” meals, featuring dishes like decadent mac and cheese, spiced eggplant over coconut cauliflower quinoa, and heirloom tomato salad from Dig Acres in upstate New York in a build-your-own meal concept that lets passengers mix and match, the airline shared with Travel + Leisure on Tuesday....

Amid reports of bad tourist behavior, a neighborhood in Japan’s Kyoto has banned unwanted photography on roads frequented by geishas. The photography ban is effective on private roads in Kyoto’s Gion neighborhood, a part of town known for its population of geiko — commonly known as geishas — and their apprentices, locally known as maiko. The area’s stone roads, ancient temples and wooden teahouses — and its appearance in films like “Memoirs of a Geisha” — make it a popular place for tourists to visit and take pictures....

One of Mexico’s most popular tourist regions plans to begin charging foreign visitors a new $10 tax starting in April 2021. The tax is meant to help offset a decline in overall tourism spending in the state, the Riviera Maya Times reported. Quintana Roo is located on Mexico’s eastern Yucatan Peninsula and is home to popular destinations including Cancun, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, and the ancient Maya ruins in Tulum. Tourism accounts for a significant chunk of the state’s revenue....

When a medical emergency stranded a Puerto Rican family in Turks and Caicos without a way to get home last week, Spirit Airlines came to the rescue. It’s official: Disney has announced an opening date for its hotly anticipated Star Wars Land. The homage to the world of George Lucas and his ragtag gang of intergalactic rebels, misfits, and villains, will open to the public in 2019. Star Wars Land has been in the works for a while, and was announced last year by Han Solo actor Harrison Ford himself. There will be two, one in California and one in Florida: Each 14-acre park represents the largest “single-themed land expansion” that Disney has pursued, the company said, and both will transport guests to a “never-before-seen planet—a remote trading port and one of the last stops before wild space—where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life....

As Walt Disney World gears up to celebrate its 50th anniversary, Orlando International Airport is getting a magical makeover in time for the festivities. When guests fly into the hub this fall, they’ll be greeted by a festive display, complete with a mural, lights, and photo booth. The terminal train stations at the airport will be complete with a new mural featuring favorite Disney characters and passengers will “walk through a glistening glow of projected EARidescent light patterns,” according to a Disney Parks blog post....

Earlier this month, flight search engine Skyscanner announced that January will be the best time to book affordable flights for 2018. Their data — based on searches from more than 60 million monthly users — suggests that the first two weeks of January will offer the best prices on flights taken in the first half of the year. The luxury boutique cruise line, Azamara has a new ship — but it doesn’t know what to call it. Cue Twitter. Azamara Cruises recently put out a call on the social media site, asking for input on what to name the newest addition to its fleet. The ship was formerly known as the Pacific Princess and operated cruises for Renaissance Cruises, Princess Cruise Line and P&O Cruises Australia. Azamara acquired the ship earlier this year, making it the fourth ship in its fleet....
