United Airlines this week became the first commercial carrier to fly a full passenger flight using 100% sustainable aviation fuel. The historic flight, which took off on Wednesday, flew more than 100 passengers from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport to Washington, D.C.’s Reagan National Airport on a 737 MAX 8. The flight used 500 gallons of sustainable fuel (or SAF) in one engine and the same amount of conventional jet fuel in the other engine as airlines can only use up to 50% of SAF on board, according to the airline....
CheapAir just released its annual airfare study, analyzing 921 million airfares from 2.9 million different trips to find how far in advance travelers should purchase flights for the best deals. The study found that 54 days out is the best time to find deals on domestic flights in the continental U.S., while the best time to book flights to Hawaii is 79 days ahead; the Caribbean, 76; and Mexico and Central America, 61....

It’s about to get easier to travel around two of the most popular national parks in the U.S. Both Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks are allowing group bus tours to resume as COVID-19 infection rates decline and vaccination numbers rise across the country. Passengers will be required to wear a mask on board, according to the National Park Service rules. The coronavirus pandemic has certainly made an impact on the travel industry — especially with airlines. Disney Parks’ new policy updates are now in effect. Large-scale stroller wagons, which were previously permitted, will no longer be allowed into Disneyland and Disney World theme parks. That means popular Keenz stroller wagons, forward push wagons, and even themed Cinderella Carriage strollers will soon be banned from parks including Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Only strollers that are 31” inches wide and 52” inches long or smaller will be allowed inside Disneyland and Disney World....
Grand Canyon National Park is considering building a stronger telecommunications system, making it easier for visitors to document their trip in real time (read: You would be able to post your Instagram stories asap).
