Midway through a seven-course dinner at Shou Sugi Ban House last fall, I temporarily forgot that I was at a wellness retreat. The glass walls of the dining space were open to the cool Long Island night, my mask was in my lap, and I was slurping a chilled squash soup through a straw. The curtains will rise on Broadway in a whole new way when the Museum of Broadway makes its debut in Manhattan in the summer of 2022. Originally conceived as a pop-up attraction slated to welcome visitors in 2020, the pandemic delayed its opening, but also transformed the plans into a permanent exhibit located at 145 West 45th Street, between Sixth and Seventh Avenues, right in Times Square. Described as an “experiential museum that celebrates Broadway’s rich history, the behind-the-scenes, and its game changers” on its site, it will be the first permanent museum dedicated to the Great White Way....

People who love Fort Lauderdale really love Fort Lauderdale. Take Evelyn Fortune Bartlett: the acclaimed painter, art patron, and South Florida socialite fondly remembered as the city’s grande dame. After her divorce from pharmaceutical heir Eli Lilly, Evelyn Fortune married the widowed Chicago artist Frederic Clay Bartlett in 1931. The pair soon began frequenting his property in then-rural Fort Lauderdale, with Evelyn lending her own eclectic aesthetic to the Caribbean-inspired residence known as the Bonnet House....

Europe and Africa are the regions seeing the fastest increases in international tourist arrivals, according to the United Nations World Tourism Organization’s 2018 Tourism Highlights. The report, which looked at international tourism arrivals across the world in 2017, found that the two regions saw respective growth of 8 and 9 percent since 2016. Around the world, the total number of international tourist arrivals grew 7 percent from 2016 to 2017, reaching a total of 1,323 million....
