Play, Iceland’s new low-cost airline, maybe launching this spring but it’s getting travelers excited now with an epic sale. It’s official: The Hoxton is coming to Barcelona. The chic hotel brand announced it will open the doors to its first outpost in Spain on April 25. As many hotels and resorts reopen after the coronavirus pandemic, they’re also looking for new ways to surprise and treat their guests. For instance, Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa, a five-star ocean retreat in Florida, reopened its doors on July 1, and guests are now enjoying some very sweet perks. In the interest of offering guests a way to social distance while enjoying their stay, the resort is now offering guests their own, custom-stocked minibars and an on-demand cocktail cart....

Lots of weird stuff happens in Las Vegas, but the new trend of pigeons wearing cowboy hats really takes the cake. In the last few days, visitors and residents of Las Vegas reported seeing two tiny pigeons sporting even tinier cowboy hats strapped to their heads. Though it sounds hilarious the potential animal cruelty is no laughing matter. “When we saw them today, you could see some loose feathers in the glue around the hat,” Mariah Hillman, co-founder of Lofty Hopes, a pigeon rescue, told CNN....

Kate Middleton may be a future Queen, but that doesn’t mean she’s any fancier than the rest of us. At least when it comes to her choice of emojis. In late November, the Kensington Royal Instagram account shared a video of the Duchess of Cambridge answering questions about “the Early Years” project and general questions around child-rearing, which Kate defined as pregnancy through age 5. For a split second, Kate flashes her phone toward the camera to show off just how many questions they received, and in doing so, inadvertently shared all her own favorite emojis....

Volunteer drone operators in Australia helped pro surfer Matt Wilkinson narrowly avoid a potential shark attack on Wednesday, catching the close call on camera. Wilkinson was surfing off the coast of Sharpes Beach, about 450 miles north of Sydney, when volunteers at the Surf Life Saving NSW spotted a shark coming up behind him. “Within 10 seconds, it was at the surfer, and five seconds later, it was gone,” drone operator Beau Monks said....

England has officially entered a second nationwide lockdown scheduled to remain in place through at least Dec. 2. JetBlue has started using a new robotic disinfectant machine capable of cleaning the entire cabin in less than 10 minutes with the help of UV light. The Honeywell UV Cabin System works its way down the aisle and shines a UV light from the ceiling to the floor. An airline employee pushes the machine down the aisle, much like they would a drinks cart and the arms stretch out over seats projecting UV light which disinfects high-touch areas in the cabin, including the bathroom....
