Ireland, the first European country to reenter a national shutdown as a second wave of coronavirus took hold of the continent, will now allow visitors who test negative for COVID-19 after their arrival to quarantine for as little as five days. Currently, visitors from the U.S. and most of Europe are required to quarantine for 14 days. That means, no weddings, funerals, in-person holiday shopping, or face-to-face visits with others. Amtrak is making it easier than ever to travel with your furry friends, expanding its pet program to allow four-legged passengers on Acela trains during weekdays. Dogs and cats up to 20 pounds will be allowed in all cars (except first class and café cars), but must remain in a carrier at all times, according to the company. Amtrak will offer eight pet spaces per departure — and one per customer — for the cost of $26 per pet or 800 Amtrak Guest Rewards points....

Royal Caribbean will look for volunteers to test out its safety protocols on simulated sailings before it resumes passenger cruises, a company spokesman confirmed to Travel + Leisure. “While we are eager to welcome our guests back on board, we have a lot to do between now and then, and we’re committed to taking the time to do things right,” the cruise line spokesman told T+L on Monday. “This includes training our crew in new health and safety protocols and conducting a number of trial sailings to stress-test those protocols in real-world conditions....
