In honor of NASA’s Perseverance rover recently completing a difficult journey to Mars, the Natural History Museum in London has unveiled a massive new replica of the planet. Measuring about 23 feet wide, the installation by U.K. artist Luke Jerram is suspended from the ceiling in the museum’s Hintze Hall....

With millions of hotel rooms left unoccupied due to stay-at-home orders and travel restrictions due to COVID-19, hotels are finding creative ways of giving back during the pandemic. This week, Marriott launched a $10 million program called “Rooms for Responders,” in partnership with American Express and JP Morgan Chase, announced in a press release. The program will provide free rooms to healthcare professionals in parts of the country most affected by COVID-19, including New York City, New Orleans, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Washington, D....

It’s about to get a little more complicated to escape the U.S. mainland for Maui. Later this month, Maui officials plan to add a step to the island’s entry requirements for travelers on trans-Pacific routes, including from the mainland. Visitors can expect to take a second COVID-19 test on arrival at Maui’s Kahului Airport or face a mandatory 10-day quarantine. The government plans to cover the costs of the COVID-19 tests taken by travelers arriving on Maui....

Tucked away in Oaxaca, Mexico, is a rare natural phenomenon that visitors can admire while taking a dip in a natural infinity pool overlooking a lush valley. At first glance, Hierve al Agua, which roughly translates to “boiling water,” looks like a giant frozen waterfall — but look closer and you’ll notice the cascading “water” is actually hardened mineral deposits. Virgin Atlantic is adding a dose of club atmosphere to its upper class cabins.
