The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has extended the federal mask mandate for another month into April, keeping face mask rules in place on planes and airports even as states across the country relax face-covering rules. The federal transportation mask mandate will remain in place through at least April 18, the TSA announced Thursday, requiring masks be worn onboard planes, in airports, and on other forms of transportation like trains and buses....

About 2,500 incidents of unruly passengers have been reported to the Federal Aviation Administration so far this year, according to the agency. Since Jan. 1, about 1,900 of those reports of unruly passengers have been about people who refused to comply with the federal mask mandate, according to the FAA. Reports of unruly behavior have gotten so bad, the FAA was forced to enact a zero-tolerance policy that has since been extended....

The Arosa train line snakes its way up into the mountains from the small Swiss city of Chur, gaining more than 3,000 feet of elevation in just 16 miles. After weeks of an almost complete lockdown, coffee bars, restaurants, and cinemas across Italy reopened on Monday as COVID-19 cases fell throughout the country. Female flight attendants on Japan Airlines used to be required to wear skirts and heels — but in a move to equalize genders, the company changed its rules in March and began permitting pants and any shoe type. Now, the carrier is taking its commitment to equality one step further by only using gender-neutral flight announcements starting Oct. 1, a JAL spokesperson told AFP on Monday. Beginning Thursday, the phrase “ladies and gentleman” will no longer be used in the English-language announcements....

New York’s Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Monday the state was setting up testing sites at JFK and LaGuardia airports to further stem the spread of COVID-19. The new testing sites would allow New York “to be able to do faster testing of people coming in,” Cuomo said at a news conference and will be set up by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and NYC Health + Hospitals....

Archaeologists have uncovered an ancient “lost city" that was once a capital of the Khmer Empire in Cambodia. Mahendraparvata, or the Mountain of Indra, King of the Gods, was an early site of the ancient empire and was found by on-the-ground surveying and overhead laser scanning, according to a recent report published by archaeology journal, Antiquity. The city’s massive temples built from bricks and stones left their imprint on the earth and helped lead researchers to the site....
