Planning new adventures as a new year approaches is always a thrill, but finding the best places to visit in 2022 is unique. After two years of border closures, cruise cancellations, and travel restrictions galore, 2022 is the year we hope to get back out there, uninhibited (albeit vaccinated and COVID tested), return to our favorite destinations, and cross new ones off our lists. Though the hospitality industry was hit hard by the pandemic, many properties used the forced downtime to renovate rooms, add new amenities, and expand outdoor spaces to offer even more once guests return....

Australia may look to fully reopen to international tourism by Easter in April, the country’s Prime Minister told a local radio station this week. “Well I can’t give you a specific date yet…and that’s because we’re just watching how omicron is sort of washing over the eastern states,” Scott Morrison said of reopening during an interview with a Cairns radio station, according to news.com.au. “I’d like to see us get there soon — certainly before Easter, well before Easter....

In February, Disney parks announced new pricing for annual passholders. At the time, the parks announced that an annual Disneyland pass would increase in price between four and eight percent. The Select pass increased from $399 to $419 and the Premier pass increased from $2,099 to $2,119. Though an increase in pricing is less than ideal, at least now we’re learning the passes come with a few new adorable perks to make it all worth it....

Americans are currently debating how to do celebrate holidays safely, but Dr. Anthony Fauci is warning they may want to “think twice” before hitting the road or having a big indoor gathering. “As we get into the colder weather, we should really think twice about these kind of dinner parties where you’re not sure of whether the people that are in your bubble (are safe),” the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases told USA Today during a meeting with the paper’s Editorial Board on Wednesday, adding it may be “almost intuitive instinct” to assume the people you know are safe, but that may not be the case....

Etihad Airways announced it is the first airline in the world to have 100% of its pilots and cabin crew fully vaccinated against COVID-19. “We proactively made the vaccine available to all our employees to not only help combat the effects of COVID-19 but to make travelers feel confident and reassured the next time they fly with us,” Etihad Aviation Group’s CEO, Tony Douglas, said in a statement on Wednesday. “We are the only airline in the world to make COVID-19 testing mandatory for every passenger and crew member before every flight and now, we’re the first airline in the world with 100% vaccinated crew on board....

During two decades of visiting family in Nashville, I have see all the things that must be seen. I have watched country music acts like the Gatlin Brothers, Barbara Mandrell, and, yes, Minnie Pearl perform a song apiece at the Grand Ole Opry in its newfangled quarters at Opryland USA, the amusement park and concert hall that is Nashville’s main attraction. Greece officially reopened for tourism on Friday, becoming the latest southern European country to do so. While much of the European Union waits for a digitized travel pass to reopen their borders to tourism, Greece announced the start of its tourism season with new advertising campaigns and events. Dozens of passengers and crew were evacuated from a Celebrity Cruises ship in the Galápagos after it ran aground this week. The Celebrity Xpedition, which sails exclusively to the area, was in the middle of a seven-day sailing that left Nov. 2, Cruise Critic reported. A total of 46 guests and 58 crew members were evacuated from the ship, which was afloat and anchored as of Thursday. The cruise line released an update on Twitter shortly after the incident....
