Greece is lifting its quarantine requirements for travelers from several countries starting next week, almost a month ahead of its May reopening date. Travelers from the European Union, the United States, Britain, Serbia, Israel, and the United Arab Emirates will not have to undergo the country’s 7-day quarantine starting April 19, Reuters reported Wednesday. However all tourists will be subject to local lockdown restrictions. The rule lift is ahead of Greece’s official reopening date on May 14 when tourists who are vaccinated, have coronavirus antibodies or have tested negative for COVID-19 will be able to enter....

Israeli residents returning from an international trip will now be allowed to swap a mandatory hotel quarantine for a self-isolation option at home as long as they agree to wear a tracking bracelet. The new policy started on Monday with a pilot of 100 tracking systems at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport, Reuters reported. It will allow travelers to opt for home isolation rather than a hotel quarantine if they agree to wear an electronic bracelet and participate in the program that comes with a wall-mounted tracker....

Italians will have to wait a bit longer for their winter ski trips. The Italian government has delayed the reopening of the country’s ski slopes until at least March 5 after detecting several cases of the British coronavirus variant in Italy. Officials made the announcement on Sunday, the night before ski resorts were supposed to reopen. Government officials cited worry over the spread of the British and other coronavirus variants, the Associated Press reported....

Paris entered yet another lockdown on Friday amid rising COVID-19 cases, a stymied vaccine rollout, and the overwhelming spread of the more contagious variant of the virus. U.S. Customs and Border Protection has postponed the reopening of enrollment centers for traveler programs, including Global Entry, until September 8.
