The U.S. Department of State is set to increase the cost of passports next week, making it even more expensive to get or renew a passport. Starting Dec. 27, the fee for a passport book will increase by $20, according to the State Department. The price increase is in addition to the current application fee of $110 for an adult passport and the $60 people can pay to expedite their applications....

Nothing beats dinner with a view. Peak, a highly-anticipated new restaurant located on the 101st floor of 30 Hudson Yards (the development’s tallest building), is officially open as of Thursday, March 12, according to a statement from the restaurant. Royal Caribbean will require unvaccinated guests on cruises out of Florida to obtain insurance that would cover them if they tested positive for the coronavirus while on board. Starting August 1, unvaccinated guests 12 and older will have to show proof of an insurance policy with coverage of at least $25,000 per person for medical expenses and $50,000 per person for expenses for things like COVID-19-related quarantine and medical evacuation, according to the company....

You don’t have to wait until Black Friday or Cyber Monday to score excellent travel deals this holiday season. You can start shopping next week. Expedia, Hotels.com, and rental site Vrbo have teamed up to create the ultimate holiday gift guide for travelers, and the deals start Tuesday. While Expedia is putting cruises on sale, the site, along with Hotels.com are also cutting hotel prices by 30% at more than 3,500 hotels around the world....

Since 1977, one building has stood out from the rest of Paris’ cityscape for its jolting modern-industrial architecture, the Centre Pompidou. But after four decades of pushing the envelope, the 10-floor building from architects Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers is in need of a major renovation. In an official press release issued Monday, the Centre Pompidou — home to a modern art museum, public library, music research center, and theater — announced it will shut down from the end of 2023 through the end of 2026 for a three-year overhaul, bringing the structure up to standards....

Uber riders will soon be able to use Clorox Disinfecting Wipes on their next ride, company reps told Travel + Leisure. Cleaning wipes will be provided for all cars in the United States. Starting Monday, drivers will be able to confirm they have the wipes available in their cars, and customers will receive an in-app notification when they book a ride. Passengers can use the wipes to disinfect everything from seat belt buckles to window controllers and door handles....
