Florida will now require anyone seeking a COVID-19 vaccine in the state to verify their residency status in an effort to crackdown on so-called “vaccine tourism.” Florida State Surgeon General Dr. Scott Rivkees issued a public health advisory on Thursday requiring those distributing the vaccine to verify the patient is indeed a resident of the state and eligible to receive the vaccine there. In Florida, people 65 and older, health care personnel with direct patient contact, and residents and staff of long-term care facilities are prioritized for vaccine distribution, according to the state’s Department of Health....

As coronavirus lockdowns begin to lift in Europe, Greece has its sights set on the summer for reopening. The country, which originally said it would reopen to tourists on July 1, with certain health and safety precautions, has moved their reopening date up to June 15, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced, according to CNN. However, most flights to Greece would resume on July 1 regardless. When visitors do make their way to the beloved destination, it won’t be a typical tourist season....

The Hawaiian city of Honolulu is cracking down on short-term rentals, requiring travelers to stay for at least three months to book one, according to reports. The new bill, which was officially signed by the Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi changed the minimum stay from 30 days to three months, Hawaii News Now reported. The bill was passed earlier this month by the Honolulu City Council. “Everybody saw this was the right thing to do,” Blangiardi said at a news conference, adding that “this is about taking back our neighborhoods....
