The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has updated the way it warns against traveling to destinations and countries as the world still grapples with the COVID-19 pandemic. Going forward, the agency will relax its definition for “Level 4” destinations, which it has used in the past to warn Americans against “very high” levels of COVID-19 transmission, advising travelers to “avoid” going there, the agency announced on Wednesday. “CDC uses Travel Health Notices to alert travelers and other audiences to health threats around the world and advise on how to protect themselves before, during, and after travel,” the agency wrote in its advisory....
The Jonas family is bringing their southern cooking restaurant to Las Vegas this year. Additionally, Vail Resorts will require that masks be worn in public indoor settings, including restaurants and restrooms, but will not require them in lift lines or on chair lifts and gondolas....

Your sunscreen may soon be illegal in Hawaii. Governor David Ige is expected to sign a bill this week that will make Hawaii the first state to ban sunscreens containing harmful chemicals in an effort to protect marine life. The chemicals oxybenzone and octinoxate, while effective at preventing skin cancer, could be contributing to bleaching of coral reefs, according to several environmental studies. The chemicals can also kill new coral growths....

In July, the Houlding children became world record holders after summiting the Piz Badile mountain, a 10,000-foot mountain that sits on the border of Switzerland and Italy. An ancient Egyptian pyramid that came very close to total collapse is finally open to the public again after a 14-year restoration, CNN reported. The Step Pyramid of Djoser, built around 4,700 years ago, is Egypt’s oldest stone monument — even older than the Great Pyramid of Giza (built around 2560 BCE), according to CNN. Believed to be designed by the ancient Egyptian architect Imhotep, according to Daily Mail, the pyramid has six stacked stone terraces that measure up to a staggering 207 feet tall and is part of the Saqqara funeral complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site just outside Memphis....
