A trio of cruise lines will return to the Caribbean this summer, planning epic journeys filled with white sandy beaches and onboard excitement. All three will require adult passengers to be fully vaccinated. In June, Royal Caribbean will sail seven-night cruises from its new homeport in Nassau, Bahamas. The trips, onboard the “Adventure of the Seas” (complete with thrilling dual-racer waterslides), will include a stop at the cruise line’s private island, CocoCay, and some time in Cozumel, Mexico....

Subscription-based language learning app Babbel is offering free programs to students while they’re out of school amid the coronavirus pandemic. The app, which features 14 languages, will be given for free to all from kindergarten to college-aged students until the end of the school term, or mid-June, the company told Travel + Leisure. This follows a pilot program that launched March 11 in which Babbel was offered gratuito to people in Italy affected by COVID-19 there (12,800 Italians signed up so far)....

Traveling in 2019 means you shouldn’t have to worry about tangled charger cords and especially tangled headphones (that’s where our favorite wireless headphones come in handy). Hours after he was sworn in as the 46th president of the United States, Joe Biden immediately started his mission to help curb the coronavirus pandemic by implementing new mask mandates and requiring that international travelers quarantine upon arrival to the United States. On Wednesday, he signed an executive order requiring both federal employees as well as visitors to “wear masks, maintain physical distance” and adhere to guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention while on federal lands....

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has removed all destinations from its highest “Level 4” travel warning, reclassifying many of them as “Level 3.” The move comes days after the agency said it would change how it classifies destinations and warns Americans against travel, reserving “Level 4” for “special circumstances, such as rapidly escalating case trajectory or extremely high case counts, emergence of a new variant of concern, or healthcare infrastructure collapse....

Earning miles and elite status on Delta Air Lines just got more complicated. Delta, which was the first U.S. legacy carrier to offer basic economy fares, will no longer allow passengers to earn SkyMiles or elite status on those bargain airline tickets, the airline confirmed to Travel + Leisure recently. After Dec. 31, travelers on basic economy tickets also will lose the flexibility they’ve had to make itinerary changes during the pandemic....
