Japan’s newest, highly anticipated bullet train will be fast, convenient, and built for some extraordinary circumstances in the future. The N700S, which will travel between Tokyo and Osaka on the Tokaido Shinkansen line and run up to about 360 kilometers (223 miles) per hour, is the first new bullet train by the Central Japan Railway (JR Central) in 13 years, and it was anticipated to be the fastest train the country has ever seen, according to CNN....

The long-promised train from California to Las Vegas is one step closer to reality. According to the local NBC News 3 Las Vegas, Clark County officials have approved permits for a new station built by Virgin Trains USA. The proposed station, documents showed, will be located at the corner of Diamond Road and Las Vegas Boulevard. The coaster was manufactured by Gerstlauer, and is a Euro-Fighter steel roller coaster. United will begin providing passengers with at-home COVID-19 tests for a more seamless international travel experience, the airline announced Wednesday. United is partnering with Abbott to give customers Abbott’s BinaxNOW COVID-19 home test and access to Abbott’s NAVICA app for results. Passengers will be able to depart the U.S. with the BinaxNOW test in their carry-ons and give themselves the test when they are ready to return. The NAVICA app integrates with United’s Travel Ready Center, which stores vaccination and test result records....

Just 45 minutes south of Kyoto sits the city of Nara, Japan. While it may be home to some 350,000 people, it’s also home to more than 1,000 tame deer that are now classified as a national treasure....

The best seats in the house at this Texas baseball stadium have a very particular dress code: swimwear. At Riders Field, where the minor league baseball team Frisco RoughRiders play, fans can watch games from a 68,000-gallon lazy river, which is the largest water feature in a professional sporting venue, according to the league. One lap around the more than 3,000-square-foot river is about 400 feet. Those in the lazy river — whether on an inner tube or just hanging out in the water — get a 270-degree view of the stadium with a vantage point above right field....
