United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson pushed back plans on Monday to lift many of the country’s remaining COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, delaying the full reopening by a month. The decision to pause the full reopening of pubs, restaurants, and nightclubs comes amid a rise in cases and as the highly contagious Delta variant of COVID-19, which initially emerged in India, circulates around the UK. The opening, which was initially set for June 21, will now be delayed until July 19....

Alaska Airlines is celebrating winter — or those looking to leave it behind — with flights for as low as $29 one way. The sale, which expires on Friday at 11:59 p.m. PST, offers guests flights with no cancel or change fees. Flights can be booked in either the airline’s saver class, or the main class, but passengers should note that changes are not allowed on saver flights outside the 24-hour cancellation window....

One person paid 80,000 euros ($98,000) to see the Mona Lisa outside of its case when it is removed for annual inspections, Christie’s auction house reported. P&O Cruises announced it’s extending its halt on cruising again, this time til October 15. In a video posted to Twitter on Tuesday, the cruise line’s CEO Paul Ludlow said that P&O is continuing to develop its new safest operating procedure and, as such, will take until mid-October to work in tandem with regulators and advisors. “I’m sure that many of you are weary of hearing us extend our pause but unfortunately as the world continues to adapt to this global crisis, we have made the decision, difficult as it is, to extend our pause in operations for all sailings up to and including October 15, 2020,” Ludlow said....

Disney Cruise Line will set sail on a test cruise later this month after receiving approval from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The cruise line will sail a two-night cruise on the Disney Dream on June 29, a spokeswoman for the company told Travel Leisure, the next step in resuming U.S. cruises this summer. The CDC requires test cruises for all cruise lines unless 98% of crew and 95% of passengers are fully vaccinated....

Disney just revealed the pricing for its new immersive Star Wars experience, a two-day adventure aboard the Galactic Starcruiser that’s set to open at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando next year. A family of four can expect to pay nearly $6,000 for two nights on board Disney’s Galactic Starcruiser in a standard cabin....

The Federal Aviation Administration has fined a pair of unruly passengers more than $159,000 — the largest-ever penalties for bad behavior on a flight. The administration proposed a fine of $81,950 against one passenger and $77,272 against another with each incident involving violent passengers last year who had to be physically restrained. In the first incident on July 7, a passenger was fined more than $81,000 after she allegedly pushed and threatened to hurt a flight attendant on an American Airlines flight from Dallas-Fort Worth to Charlotte when the crew member tried to help her following a fall into the aisle....

As COVID-19 cases are once again on the rise in Europe, several countries have entered another lockdown and re-implemented restrictions to prevent the spread of the virus. French President Emmanuel Macron has ordered people to stay in their homes except for essential activities like buying food or getting medical care, Reuters reported. This follows the implementation of nightly curfews in several metropolitan areas, including Paris, as well as an order earlier this month to close bars and implement strict protocols on restaurants in the capital city....

The world could definitely use a little hope in times of crisis. As the world continues to combat the coronavirus pandemic, one artist in Switzerland decided to spread a message of hope in the form of a gigantic mural, Lonely Planet reported. “Beyond Crisis” is a mural painted directly on the landscape located in Leysin, an alpine resort in Switzerland. It was created by the artist Saype, who completed the project last month, according to Lonely Planet....

Los Angeles’s legendary private club for magicians is opening a second location later this year. The Magic Castle will open a satellite magic castle in Santa Barbara by Halloween, according to Los Angeles Magazine. Apparently Milt Larsen, who co-founded the club in 1963, now splits his time between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara and wanted to recreate the Magic Castle experience for his friends further up the coast. The second club, which is to be called the Magic Castle Cabaret, will open in what used to be a Mexican restaurant....
